Virginia Air and Space Center, Hampton VA

The Virginia Air and Space Center is a museum and educational facility in Hampton, Virginia that also serves as the visitor’s center for NASA's Langley Research Center. The museum's permanent collection is housed in a three-story glass atrium accessible from two exhibit floors with an additional catwalk level available for viewing suspended aircraft from above. Volunteers maintain an amateur radio exhibit displaying modern and historic radio equipment. The exhibit also participates in the Space Amateur Radio Experiment where visitors can periodically talk to astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

They have a full passenger jet you can play in. The kids practiced take offs and landings for hours!

The flight simulator! Robbie couldn’t wait to get in here. You get to fly a fighter jet on a mission. The simulator can climb, roll and do loops... Yes loops! We (aka Maverick and Goose, you have to have code names!) started our mission to destroy the enemy air and ground targets. We fought the enemy and won, but not after a couple of tricky inverted air maneuvers!

Spaghetti Tacos… Say what?

After watching “iCarly” on Nickelodeon for the millionth time, the kids talked us into making Spaghetti Tacos. They’re pretty easy to make, the name says it all. Make some spaghetti and sauce and drop it in a taco shell. Surprisingly enough, they’re pretty good, easy to make and not much clean up! Who knew?

Time for a little work!

Dad’s shed needed to be replaced. First we had to remove the old one, it was a team effort!

Robbie loves working the screw gun!

We had to join the existing fences to keep the dog from getting out.

Time for some power washing, Jordyn cleaned the slab and fence.

All dry and ready for the new shed.

Starting the new shed, it’s a little taller so you can stand up in it. Ever notice when you put an aluminum shed together the wind starts to blow??

All done!!! Looks pretty easy in the picture, huh? It took us 3 days to get everything done!

On the road again…..

Our time here in Georgia is up, we’re on the move again! We had a great time working on our friend’s new house. The kids got to help build the deck on the back of the house and made some new four legged friends.

Our temporary housing in front of the new double wide

Ginger & Scruffy, the highway hounds!

What could possibly go wrong?

So… you thought we fell off the face of the planet?

No, we’ve been back in Georgia helping our friends setup their new home. There is a lot to be done, running water, electric, deck building and so on. We’ve been at it for a month now, it seemed to rain every other day at first. With clear skies now, we’re making some head way. Click on the link below and you can see what we’ve been up to!

Let it snow... let it snow… let it snow

Well our white Christmas turned into a blizzard, with 14 inches of snow! The trailer is hating all this cold weather, we have 6 foot icicles hanging off of it. We’ve gotten to know the propane dealer very well here!

The kids built a snowman taller than they are!

This is my dad’s dogs first snow, we kept losing her in the snow, it’s amazing how much snow can stick to a dog!

Driving was a bit of a challenge, but it was the only way to get to my secret sledding spot, we used to use as kids here. Looks like someone let the secret out, but there was plenty of room for us! This is right off the beach in Norfolk at Sarah Constant beach, the wind is cranking through about 30-40 mph but the sledding was great!

Here are some videos of our sledding adventure
