The Barthell Coal Camp was owned by the Stearns Coal & Lumber Company.
These buildings housed the barber, doctor, bath house and company store.

This map shows how big this mine was. The circles are 60x30 foot pillars the miners leave to support the ceiling. The mine was over 300ft deep and 12 miles of tunnels. You can see in this map that they dug under the Paunch Creek.
