We’ve done started our own business!

If you’re going to live in the middle of nowhere, you’re going to need a job. Jane didn’t think she’d fit in at the shipyard, so she started her own business. She’s a Lemon Dropper now, selling Young Living Essential Oils. We were a little skeptical at first, but they do work. If you like to hike, you’ll like Panaway! Say bye-bye to sore muscles! Put it on and wake up still able to walk! I recently had a cold and used some of the Thieves and Purification. It worked really well; I didn’t have to use any cold medicine. I use all natural oils to kick the cold out, NICE! Not to sound like an infomercial, but I get a lot of heartburn. I use Young Living’s Lemon oil for it. A couple drops in about 3 fingers of water in a glass and I never get heartburn anymore!

You can mix coconut oil with the Essential oils to create rubs, like Deep Pain relief or Peace and Calming for a good night sleep!

Happy Birthday, Robbie!

Happy Birthday Robbie, the BIG 1-2!!
Robbie says thank you for all your cards and presents!

We had a Nerf warrior party! Here are some of the local talent. Divided into teams and BAM, rain…. What? We got to have a little Nerf assault action, before the rain stopped us.

A little birthday cake and ice cream solved the rain out!

Throw in some presents and despite the rain we still got our party on!

A little Xbox and John Madden football, the Dolphins might go to the Super Bowl!!

Aaaahhhh… It’s a Carolina Rug Rat….. Chubs is on the loose!

Medoc Mountain State Park – Hollister, NC

Time for a little R&R, we’ve started exploring some of the local state parks here in North Carolina. Medoc Mountain is not really a mountain at all; its highest point reaches an elevation of only 325 feet above sea level. It is, rather, the core of what was once a mighty range of mountains - Medoc Mountain is what remains after millions of years of erosion. The eroded peaks were formed by volcanic action during the Paleozoic Age, about 350 million years ago.

Medoc Mountain has 12 miles of hiking trails; we did about 11 of them. This is one we explored along Fishing Creek.

Jordyn's checking to see how wet the water is. :)

Stafford’s on the Farm?

That’s right a farm!  We bought a farm in North Carolina, we’ve been here a year this Thanksgiving.  Here’s our little farm house.  A small 3/2 that fits us just right!

Here’s where the crops should be grown, but I can’t get Jane to plow it. :)

Here’s what we have now, it’s the end of the growing season so it’s a little overgrown, right.  We have some Red Romaine lettuce, rutabagas, Brussels sprouts and broccoli going. The weather has turned colder than normal, in the 20’s at night, so the garden is taking a beating.

We still have our trailer and made a little campsite so we don’t lose our camping edge!  We’ve found some nice state parks here in North Carolina, we’ll post some updates on them soon.

This is a view headed out the back of our property into the woods.  We have our “Pro Hunt Club” shack out here.

This is our shooting range.

This is our little red barn and chicken coop.

Here are some of our Buff Orpington chickens, Link our rooster/guard chicken.  Robbie’s holding sqweep our youngest chick.  Yes, most of their names came from Monsters VS Aliens.

Link our rooster!

We plan on updating our blog more often now that we have settled in.  In our next updates Jane and Jordyn will make an appearance along with the Chubs the Guinea Pig.  Maybe I’ll even let you see our John Deere tractor! Oh yeah!
